The Archetects presents
ALCHEMY, THE LOOK BOOK.

- A visual product of NYC collaborative, The Archetects. The Alchemy collection is comprised of two key pieces that focuses on infusing African wax fabric with leather, hence, the use of the term, Alchemy. Designed by teff, THE don; sewn by Zunyda Watson. The design will extend into a variety of prints and patterns, as well as pieces in the coming seasons.

Each piece was handmade, as well as the other pieces that will be available in the online shop, coming this January 2013.

Also, the shirts and pants will be available in unisex sizes!

We’ll be accepting pre-orders by the end of the month, so stay tuned.

It’s weird, this whole 12/12/12 thing because it almost makes you feel as if you should have done something special on this day, and it kinda makes me nervous (for no particular reason). When i was young i used to write dates on the left hand side of my journal, and every time the dates repeated from (01/01/01 - 10/10/10 etc) i would make a special note, or be excited, and now its never gonna happen again.

Somehow this feels like confirmation that i am really growing up 0_0

I am not perfect. I get sick, i get angry, i lie. Sometimes I say things i don’t mean, most times i mean things i don’t say. I cry over little things, and say i’m fine over things that matter. I believe in love, yes the crazy once in a lifetime love. I’m irrational. I assume the people i love know i love them, while show overwhelming kindness to those who don’t deserve it. I hope, i dream… sometimes to much; reality isn’t my thing. I say i will do something, and then i don’t do it. I change my mind quickly, I’m indecisive.

At the end of the day, I mean no harm- I can’t be anyone else. I’m evolving.

A moment of insanity

So This time last week i was passed out in my bed, having drank too many glasses of wine at some Trend forecasting seminar (which sounded interesting before the talks started) .

I get out of bed, and find my apartment empty; my roommate and friends no where to be seen and then i feel something strange on my left hand. You will probably be as surprised as i was to realize that i had an earing in the web of my hand. Somehow between discussing a new piercing and intoxication my mind failed me and i thought it was a good idea to remove the stud from my ear and shove it into my hand.

Oh how i love myself sometimes. I thought about taking it out, and i almost did, but something about it was charming, but mostly completely insane. After washing my new piercing i went back to bed wondering how many other people could say they happily stabbed their hands.

Now it is healing well and even though this is still probably not the brightest idea i had, it is in a way a celebration of my youth, and the fact that the man who is going to propose to me will be looking at a hand with a hole, and thinking that he is fine marrying a woman who is mentally unstable :P

Time, Wasting.

What exactly is a “waste of time”? It seems no one has any time, for anything because in half the conversations i have daily, someone will talk about how they don’t have time for something.

At 21, i say, why NOT waste my time? At least I have time to waste. So what if walking down the road backwards takes longer and “wastes time”, i enjoy it. Time wasted in the modern world seems to be time spent doing something else other than making money. Time is money, and money is time right?

Wrong. Time is memories, time is letting yourself breathe, time is seeing the difference between night and day. Time is learning to heal… or learning to love.

In 3, 4 or 5 years i may not have time to waste (kids, career and whatnot), life may start moving so fast that it feels like i’m standing still; so let me cherish the moments when i can feel the seconds being wasted and have the freedom to do nothing at all, no matter how irresponsible that sounds :)
